Munchkin number two arrived this morning, thankfully I am off this week to wrangle our almost two year old. I forsee a lot of playing with toy cars in my near future.
Now that I have a girl am I supposed to spend the next ten years mentally preparing myself for her to start dating?
Edit: we have a boy and girl now, and that is the limit.

congrats, and sorry about your sleep. My kids are 3 and 5 and I’m just now getting semi-regular sleep again. Two is tough, but fun. And a girl, boy little girls sure are fun.

Congrats, man! Way cool! I’m not a dad, but I am the oldest brother, with a sister about 2 years younger than I am. Couldn’t be more thankful for her. Your son just got as big of a gift as you did.

My son is almost 2 years old now. From the day he came home from the hospital, he has always slept in his own room. I’ve never understood why people want to bring them into the master bedroom.

Congratulations! I’ve got a 2 month old at home myself- our first. I think I’m getting used to the sleep deprivation.
Enjoy the toys cars, and start shopping online for a rifle that you can clean when your daughter has boys come over, years from now.

My son is almost 2 years old now. He loves playing with toy cars more than anything. He doesn’t care about cartoons yet, but he loves to watch drag racing. We were watching last weekend and after almost every run, he would turn to me and do sign language for “more”. I had a hard time explaining to him that he had to wait for track prep between classes though...

Congrats!
Our little guy turned 5 today, his sister turned 3 in Aug.. He’s got the knowledge and height, she has the balance and determination.. Together they’re almost unstoppable.
Kids are super fun, and super hard. Hold that little one lots - they get big so fast!

They start to sleep well somewhere around 2-3 years old. That being said my 12 year old woke me up to tell me she had a headache. I’m like get the damn aspirin yourself. You know where it is.

Congratulations! Sleep train early, we went way too long with our first. Try not to think about the dating thing too much, you’ve got time.

I can empathize. You should try it with twins. When our boys came home from the hospital, I discovered all new realms of sleep deprivation. And we had a three-year-old to deal with, and no grandparents close by to help. I always said that I wanted two kids, but instead, we got two more . And my wife, bless her heart, breast fed all of them, and pumped for two when she went back to work. Best wishes and congratulations to you and Mrs. Phryxes.

They are 11 days short of being exactly 2 years apart. Thankfully both infant seats we used for the older one will be good through her transition to a front facing seat.
After putting both seats in my jsw I am glad that I am getting the option to upgrade to a larger vehicle, thanks vw.

Top tip: You can still play with toy cars with the girl when she gets older :)
Can’t help you on the sleep deprivation, but I can surely empathize.

Absolutely, I figure I will be up with her Sunday watching f1 from Japan. Have to start the motorsports early right?

That makes sense. Our son’s room is two doors down from ours, so he’s pretty close.

Congrats on the little one. Girls are great - nothing better than hearing her yell “Daddy!” and run to you for a hug after you’ve been gone a couple days. 10 years? I’m quietly hoping for closer to 20...
Our limit was 3. Boy, girl, boy.
